Items For Sale

This page will list pub games items that I have acquired which are now surplus to my requirements. It may be that I have duplicates of a particular item, or may have been bought specifically to list here or become surplus to my own gaming needs! All the items shown here are offered at the same, or only a little more than what I would have originally paid for them. Some items can be shipped, other suitable only for collection. Please contact me using 'comments' at the bottom of this page if you are interested in anything.

Devil Amongst The Tailors (Table Skittles). This table is homemade from quality hardwoods, and with Beech skittle pins and ball. Not a full league standard size, but a substantial game nevertheless that's uniquely self-contained and fully packs away into the table with a sliding lid as shown. This makes it easy to store if space is tight, and ideal for transporting to the pub.

Devil Amongst The Tailors (Table Skittles). Complete with turned hardwood pins, ball & chain, and detachable mahogany crib board with four pegs for scoring. The table is made from a mix of quality old ply and solid hardwoods, and there is a drawer to store all parts other than the pole. This table is large and very heavy, but not 'league' standard size.

Any idea where I can buy sove ha'penny official tokens?

Mark said...

Your best bet is eBay where they fairly frequently come up but can be at quite ridiculous prices. I only have one of the Shove Ha'penny Control Assc discs myself, though full sets of other types from Jaques or St Georges in varying conditions.

Great site I will be pouring over every page! When I cross the pond someday my pub crawl will be to play the games!

Thanks for that Shari, a great theme for a pub crawl, there's plenty more interesting games I've yet to encounter so keep coming back.

Bat and trap is one of my favs, it's a great draw when I bring my set out. Love ringing the bull, although have never played it. I'll keep coming back! :)

Just found your site, lots of great information. Is the ‘shut the box’ game still up for sale? Cheers

Can anyone please tell me what the dimension are for a skittle table. I'm originally from the Wigston area and now living in Houston, Texas. I'd like to build my own table and start the game over here. I miss it!

Thanks.

Hi, I’ve done this before but failed to keep a record. If you give me a week or two I’ll do a blog post with measurements for my Leicester table and a WT Blacks Northants table.

Mark if I can help with this enquiry I will. Cheers John.

Mark said...

Please do John, I must admit I'd completely forgotten about it. You have a Leicester table yes?

How did we leave this, Mark? Email me directly if you wish.

Mark said...

I was going to do a blog post of all the existing table skittles versions with dimensions, but can't get access to any other than my Leicester table now so it'll have to wait.

I am also interested in building a table, did you ever get around to measuring any?

Details of a Leicester Skittles Table have now been posted here: https://pub-games.blogspot.com/2021/01/table-skittles-leicester-tradition.html

Hopefully when I get a chance to visit one of my local skittles pubs later this year I'll do the same for the Northamptonshire Tables, and a Cambridge model eventually.
